Elizabeth J. Kerr, Chair of the LC Library Board and Librarians Brenda and Elizabeth attended the Grand Opening of the Sumter County Library on Saturday. What a fine time. The weather was absolutely gorgeous.
The new facility is breathtaking. We want to thank Faith Line for inviting us to participate in this special day with her. The facility is a credit to all her hard work.

Community Outreach.........

Librarians Brenda and Elizabeth went out for a "Parent Chat" at the Bishopville Primary School this morning. Also attending was Darlas C. Moore from Clemson 4-H, Alan Watkins Director of LC Parks and Recreation and Mary Randall, Principal of BPS.
The LC Library is partnering with Clemson and Parks and Rec during the "Summer Reading Program" and this community chat gave us all an opportunity to reach out and touch our patron base. The parents were very excited with all activities offered this summer by our organizations. We're pretty excited too!!

Friends of the Library............
The Friends of the Library have made a generous donation to the Summer Reading Program that will enable us to expand our program even more this year. We are hoping to charter a bus and take the "summer readers" to Ed-venture in Columbia and also visit the Richland County Library so our readers can see a BIG library
We extend the largest, warmest "thank you" to President Davis Kirkpatrick, the Board of Directors and all the Friends of the Library for their generosity. The Librarians, and especially the children, really appreciate your kindness.
