And the Winner Is.................

The LC Librarians pulled off a stunning win at the SC State Library National Library Week Photo Contest.

We took top honors with First Place - Most Humorous. First Place - Overall, and Honorable Mention for Humorous.

Scroll down on the left hand side of the page and link to our Flickr account. You will see the entire set of Library 1.0 and Library 2.0 pictures as well as some great candids of library patrons using our facility.

Whoo - hooo! We are psyched!

New webpage is good, but please correct the errors.
First paragraph: replace "pulled of" with "pulled off."
Essay Contest: "well" should be "will," and categories is misspelled.

Please, please correct your punctuation in the book titles in the Kiwanis section:
The periods and commas ALWAYS go INSIDE the quotation marks. If you don't believe me, look it up in a grammar book in the library. The rule is clear.

Well, anonymous, aren't you in a bad mood. The library is a wonderful, welcoming place where all people feel comfortable. My children and I always have such a good time with the librarians. You need a life.

Well, actually, my Elements of Grammar says that titles of books, periodicals and other complete works should be italicized.

As far as the spelling is concerned sometimes speed and distractions lead to errors. We apologize and will correct the errors.

Thanks for the input. We appreciate your comments. Keep 'em coming.

I'm from Bishopvill, but lived in New York for 20years. I was amazed at how such a small library looked so sleek and elegant yet comfortable. The Librarians were so centered on giving the patrons information about books and magazines. There were even newspapers from other counties to keep the patrons informed on current events. I wished all Librarys were so wonderful and intimate as the Bishopville Library.
